The AEI Student Design Competition is an annual event for architectural engineering undergraduates to highlight and showcase the value of collaboration, competition, and peer review. In 2021, my team represented Penn State University in this competition in which we investigated the use of data to inform the design of a high-performance K-12 school in Northwest Washington, D.C. Our project was awarded first place for our electrical, structural, and construction system designs, and was awarded second place for our mechanical system design. We also received outstanding achievements in innovation for our contributions to pandemic resiliency.
